Cbank: Russians’ foreign cash demand hits all-time high in Dec
MOSCOW, Feb 19 (PRIME) -- Russian households’ net demand for foreign currency cash more than doubled on the month to U.S. $8.231 billion in December 2014, hitting an all-time high, the central bank said in a statement Thursday.
Combined demand of Russian households for foreign cash more than doubled to $20.8 billion.
Banks imported around $18 billion in December to avoid panic and deficit of foreign currency cash on the market.
